Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails ~ Proverbs 19:21
Hello friends!!
Remember when I first announced that I was going to become a missionary for Pioneer Bible Translators in Papua New Guinea TEN YEARS ago?! Remember how shocked I was when God’s plan started falling into place so unbelievably?
Well once again, I am trusting His plan as I’ve been reassigned a new role with PBT, working full-time for the Development Department right here in America! This work will not only serve the people of Papua New Guinea, whom I love with all my heart, but touch the lives of people who are using their funds to enable the Bibleless to receive the Word of God in their heart languages all over the world.
I am excited! It feels like this new position within PBT is tailor-made for me. It will be a joy to share my experiences of how God is changing people’s hearts through His Word in their Heart Language. I pray this personal touch will inspire and encourage current and new donors, so that people whom they may never meet will know God on an intimate, “Saving” level. I love that I will get to tell them what it is like to personally experience someone (whole villages!) receiving the Bible in their Heart Language for the first time! I look forward to making our donors feel loved and appreciated, and helping them see how they are playing a significant part in God’s Great Commission. If you know me, you know that I love connecting with people. And I’ll be doing all this work from my home here in Ohio!
This is a direct quote from the Development Department:
“The Development Team encourages individuals and churches to partner financially with Pioneer Bible Translators, providing the resources needed to fulfill our mission of seeing a network of churches using Scripture to grow, mature and multiply in every language group on earth. The Development Team does a variety of things like speaking in front of groups and holding face-to-face meetings to raise funds, providing ongoing communication and encouragement to donors, organizing vision trips to the field, matching donor interests to specific needs, and organizing special fundraising events.”
You may be wondering what happens to the Baby JJ Ministry?! This ministry will continue as my national co-workers will take the donated baby items to those in most desperate need. Baby JJ Ministry is still very much a part of me and my national team in Madang. The ladies who have sent over 1,500 baby items have more boxes ready to send as soon as the post office will allow it. (Things are still glommed-up due to the delays caused by covid). I will be collecting items to send as well. Thank you for considering donating funds or items to continue this ministry. This is an ongoing, huge need!
So, to sum this up in a neat little package:
- I am still full-time with PBT, and living on donations as you have so graciously given over the years, but now I live in Ohio.
- I would love it if you would continue to support what the Lord is doing through PBT and my new role to serve PBT here in Ohio. My PBT support page can be found here.
- The Word of God is being translated all over the world in so many different languages, and this position will enable me to touch even more people to join the effort.
- The Baby JJ Ministry is alive and well, and things will arrive there when the Lord allows things to move from here to there. Let me know if you want to collect and/or send items.
Please continue to pray for my PBTPNG teammates. Ask the Lord to send more workers–the need is great.
Maybe He is sending you?? Don’t ignore it, explore it.
I am really excited about this next chapter in my life, and there is one more line to end this update, but I to share this song first – it spoke to my heart when I first went to Cambodia, and it speaks to me today. I will be His hands and feet wherever He leads me.
Thank you for reading this far, you bless me! Thank you for prayerfully considering continuing your prayer and financial support. Thank you for continuing to pray for me and my family.
