A friend recently told me she didn’t know what Giving Tuesday was which made me realize that not everyone knows about this! The annual day of giving began in 2012 following two major consumption days in the U.S., Black Friday and Cyber Monday as a way to honor the value of generosity. You can “google it” to learn more but I love that tomorrow is Giving Tuesday because my 2023 budget is $2,000 a month short.
I was doing fine financially in PNG, and even managed to come back to America with a nice little nest egg to draw from – I have depleted that nest egg, and now I am asking you to pray and then reach into your heart, and pocketbook, and consider becoming a monthly donor, or even just a one-time donor. Click here if you are able to help me out! I would really appreciate it!
I love my role with PBT and was thrilled to get to work on the “Bible Display” with the Development Department. It is truly amazing! We have many completed and partial translations! So when I recently went to ICOM (International Conference on Missions) in Columbus, Ohio, I was so awestruck to see how many translations had yet to be started that I had to share some photos with you.
Currently, PBT is working with 108 languages across the globe; reaching 102.5 million people. In 2021, there were 51,717 verses drafted. There were 28,257 exegetically checked, 31,174 verses published. But it is not enough… There is much work to do.Since 1976, PBT has published 416,940 verses, including 4 complete Bibles and 23 New Testaments… AND we are working on a video version of the American Sign Language, but all of these are still not enough… there are 1,629 spoken languages and 274 signed languages that need to be completed – many need to be started.Part of what I get to do now is speak to first time donors of PBT. I get to share stories of attending New Testament dedications and what their (your) donation means to someone. It means life or death. We will each spend eternity somewhere. Call me selfish if you want, but I want you and everyone to be in heaven one day. 😀
I would love to continue serving in this mission field but I need your help!
