I made it back to my little flat in Madang on April 27, after traveling on 10 flights, and sleeping in 13 beds, at various family and friends’ houses… not to mention the flights and beds in Australia before I started my trek to America.
The bed in my Madang flat might not be a pillow-top, but it is the one I plan to sleep on for many months in a row. I’m tired! Ha-ha!
I have been doing some online Bible studies, from YouVersion, and one recently spoke to me on a level that made me want to share with you. One is praying Scripture over your children. It has been AMAZING! It is called
Here are some of the gems that I pulled from one in particular.
I want to be able to say
- I glorified You on earth, having accomplished the work that You gave me to do.
- Most of us don’t like the word obedience. But it is the pathway to the faith you long for.
- Living bold is full of uncertainty.
- Every one of the plans God has prepared for us requires letting go of one thing and taking hold of another.
- Consider this: If you haven’t heard from God lately, perhaps He is waiting for you to do something He has already told you to do. So let go of all that holds you hostage to a mediocre faith.
- Move forward with the promises of God blowing your sails.
- Live bold with Jesus at the helm.
Life can be quite challenging – on a good day… but if we keep looking to God for the answers, and our next step, we have direction and we are able to rest in Him. The past few years especially have been difficult. “But God.” My favorite two words. He never left me, or any of us; not for a second. He is ever-present.
The thing is, we grow when we are in the valleys, in our darkest times. That is when we gain strength, knowledge, and perhaps some compassion that we didn’t know we had before our trial.
Trials will come, sometimes they come at a manageable pace, sometimes we are pounded, but rest assured, trials will come. So, I choose to embrace them, as well as is humanly possible. This song really speaks to me.
Song – Jesus Bring the Rain // Thank you for keeping us in your prayers!
- Here is ClydeyBoy (my only living original baby from the beginning of the JJ Ministry) and his parents, at the house they are building. We are having the copper for the roof delivered today. They are making a room for me! Come visit!!
Prayer requests:
- Safety while in town, safety while we travel to the dedication next month. It doesn’t hurt to start praying now!
- Strength and good health for my body. I don’t have either at the moment. I have been sick this week, with fever, chills, and now a wonderful cough and runny nose.
- Healthy sleeping (and eating) habits
- I need to be able, in our trade language, to hear, understand, and respond accordingly, MUCH better than I am able to do now.
- Consistent water to the haus sik.
- Consistent and better medical supplies in the mama ward… and other wards.
- Repairs to the bathroom in the mama ward. The main one, not the delivery room bathroom that I have been trying to have repaired for 2+ years…
- Fixing the sewage problem in the mama ward.
Thank you for partnering with us as we live and love among the people of Papua New Guinea in the beautiful South Pacific. Your prayers are SO important!
Be well, sweet girl. Praying for your body to be healed. May He give you physical and emotional strength. Ease into your routine. Love the music. It speaks to my heart this morning.
I am preparing to catch a flight to Orlando for a week of General Council. I’m addressing the women’s pre-council meetings on Monday. It is a testimony of healing as an element of soul care.
It’s difficult to leave my family for an entire week. Yet when God calls to speak of His incredible power, I need “to saddle up my horse and follow.” I’m entrusting them to God. It is something you are all too familiar with.
Love and prayers,
Nancy
