I’m (already) back in Papua New Guinea
I can’t believe the time is up and I am already in Madang! Wow.
My first trip to America was a success!
I had a wonderful time first in Florida to celebrate my mom’s 90th birthday and then in Ohio with my family and friends there! Thank you so much for your love, your support, a car to drive, tickets to see the Broncos play the Bengals (we don’t need to talk about the score, ha!) the amazing love that was poured out of each of you. I’m sorry that I didn’t have more time to meet with people, but next time should be different.
It was such a blessing to be able to share in celebrating my mom turning 90 with my siblings! I was able to do some shopping while I was there and pick up some things that I either can’t readily get or can’t get at all, here. I came back with some new clothes. So I’m excited about that.
Jennie and I took a picture to make my village mama smile I hope it makes you smile too.
A friend gave me their seats for the Bengal/Bronco game and another friend paid for us to stay in a hotel because it was a Monday night game. What an extra special blessing that weekend was! Here’s a photo out my window when we arrived.
Here’s Robbie at the game… we lost to the Bengals… but it was a FUN time anyway, thanks friends!
Pictured below is part of the gang that saw me off at the airport in Ohio.
I got the best surprise on my napkin when I got to Atlanta and I opened a sandwich from Columbus. I might laminate it and keep it (big smile!) That was when it hit me that I’d be gone another year. That’s hard, please keep us in your prayers.
Now that I am back at work, we are closing December and then we will close 2014. They worked really hard while I was gone; not only in the Finance Department, but we now have newly sewn curtains in our office and freshly painted walls.
Update on P&K
is that there is no update (smile!).
They are rebuilding their lives in another place and as far as I know, they are doing alright. I don’t know anything about their son, as far as his whereabouts. He might still be in jail, or maybe he is out and trying to rebuild his life too, I don’t know. I can only imagine the emotional healing he will have to go through (I certainly have not forgotten the family who lost their son, trust me. I am just focusing on one side and seeing their pain as well at this moment. There is pain all over this situation)
Vehicle Opportunity!
I am excited! There is a chance that I can get a new vehicle ~ new to me, it is most likely a 2001 or 2002. I don’t know what year because that isn’t part of the information kept here. I may still need to raise another $2,000 (which could go up considerably if they don’t accept a lower offer, or I end up getting another car like the other one that is available) so I would really appreciate your praying about giving toward my vehicle fund. Thank you for considering it, I am grateful! I look forward to the added freedom that having my own vehicle can/will allow.
Prayer Requests:
Please pray that the Lord leads me to the right vehicle the first time
Please pray about donating toward my “new” vehicle.
Continued prayers for me and my family and my Papua New Guinean family and friends
Praise:
I had a wonderful visit in Florida and Ohio last month
All of my luggage made all my flights and stayed with me.
I am finally all moved into my flat and getting settled in.
Thank you so much for your continued prayers, I need them! I am so grateful to be here and to be able to experience my small part of Bible translation. Thank you for supporting me prayerfully and financially ~ I appreciate you more than you can imagine!!
Sharon,
I am so glad to hear from you. I was just telling Joe the other day that I hadn’t heard from you in a while and I was so excited when I got your email. I’m glad you got to spend time with your mom and make her 90th Birthday. I can still remember when we had my mom’s 90th. Cherish her while she is still with you because you’ll really miss them once their gone.
I continually pray for you!
Gayla
So good to hear about your new Great Life!
