Suzy and I went to her son-in-law and daughter’s food truck, the Floridarado three nights in a row! Betzy and Isaac named it “Floridarado” to intertwine his Florida heritage and her Colorado heritage. My goodness, if you want some yummy food – GO eat wherever they are. You will not be disappointed! I would like for them to feed me every day.

Sandy and I at Cheddars – He used to be my boss and prayed for me when I was far from living a missionary life… if you catch my drift. Nobody is out of God’s reach… trust me… no, trust Him. Let me know if you ever want to talk. I am available.

We went to Windsor, Colorado for the Labor Day celebrations. One of my sweet grand nephews, Blaze, was on the ROTC float. I’m so proud of his dedication to ROTC and their activities. You know, I watched America struggle – especially bad – during this past two year term. It’s been hard. My sense of the unity America should have had suffered, but it was restored as I stood with the people at this parade – who were clappin, hootin” and hollerin’ for those representing our United States Armed Forces as they marched by us. I experienced it with tears, and I felt “my America” very near to my grateful heart.

So now I’m home with my Jennie and co whom I love with all my heart. Back to “Home Assignment life” after my brief vacation… thank you for helping me to reconnect with Suzy, (3/4 of) her girls and their kids; some of which I had not yet met! I am grateful!

This is where my prayer request for this update begins and ends. 

Many of you have asked me about EJ and how he is doing after his terrible go-card accident.
Here is an update and a plea for your help prayerfully and financially

He suffers from “Traumatic  Brain Injury” (TBI) and he really(!) needs treatment called “Neurofeedback” where they actually retrain his brain where certain executive functions are gone.

For instance, he is suffering with these and other issues:

• Disturbances of Mood  
• Impulsive
• Oppositional
• Anger Control Problems
• Low Motivation 
• Multitasking Problems
• Concentration issues
• Failure to Initiate Actions 
• Poor Social Skills

These are functions that we all have working at varying degrees, but for EJ they have been damaged by the impact of the roll-bar into his face at high speed. He had surgery to repair damage so that he can breathe normally. We don’t anticipate any more surgeries, thankfully.

These Neurofeedback treatments are $200 each and are imperative for my grandson to lead a normal life and grow into the wonderful man we all want him to be.

We desperately need your help. Any amount will help. Some dear friends have gotten us started with generous donations that provided 11 sessions. I took this picture at his 9th session… he needs 30+ sessions to retrain the damaged neural pathways. 

Thank you so much for all of your prayers and financial help to continue the translation work being done in Papua New Guinea. I have had “some” responsibilities since my Home Assignment began, but I am here first and foremost for rest and restoration of my heart, mind, body and soul. My (right) wrist surgery went well and the pain lessens daily. I have a bulging disc in my back that causes me pain, but I am doing physical therapy. I am on the mend, prayerfully and thankfully! 

Thank you for giving me the freedom/permission to take this time to heal while I am so close to my loved ones. I need it.
